PLUS Cassia Angustifolia Seed Polysaccharide: AN Amazing Natural Substance for Skin! Many individuals swear by facial beauty products that contain senna, or Cassia angustifolia – and for good reason. Senna is originally from Africa and Arabia, although it is now grown all over the world. It has been used for thousands of years for its diuretic effects and especially as a curative for constipation. In modern times, it was discovered that it could also be used as a powerful beauty aid for the skin. Senna’s molecular structure is very similar to hyaluronic acid. This means that it also has the ability to retain water. Senna seed polysaccharides, a natural ingredient in most quality, organic skincare products, has two great effects: 1) It creates a barrier on the skin which locks in moisture. 2) It also “binds” water to it. Some experts claim that senna seed can hold up to 100 times its weight in water! Senna is also a powerful antibacterial/antifungal that may be able to help with skin infections. A 2016 report published in the Journal of Pharmacognosy and Phytotherapy stated that Cassia Angustifolia extract “possesses remarkable antimicrobial activity and could act as an antifungal agent

Ferulic Acid
or hydroxycinnamic acid is a powerful antioxidant that is used in skincare and cosmetic products. As an antioxidant, ferulic acid is used to neutralize free radicals. Free radicals are produced from pollution, UV rays, smoking, diet, and infrared radiation. When there is an imbalance of free radicals in the body it can cause damage to your cells. This damage has been linked to premature aging such as early wrinkles, lines, and loss of firmness. Ferulic Acid is found naturally in the leaves and seeds of most plants. It is especially high in such foods as rice, wheat, and oats but may also be found in the cell walls of fruits and vegetables such as parsley, spinach, rhubarb, and grapes.

Some skin care manufacturers incorporate Ferulic Acid as an active ingredient in products such as serums and creams. It started out as a stabilizer for products containing the antioxidant vitamin C and E. However, scientist have since discovered that ferulic acid is a powerful antioxidant in its own right and that it boosts antioxidant properties of other skin care ingredients.

Rutin is a polyphenol flavonoid found in many plants, for example, citrus fruits. The main reason it's used in cosmetics is its high antioxidant and free radical-scavenging ability (similar to that of superstar Vitamin C, but also has some antibacterial nature and wound-healing properties. There is also an in-vitro (made in Petri dishes on animal cell lines) study showing potential for rutin as a skin-whitening agent and people have even tried using it to increase the UV-blocking ability of SPF agent. Either way, its antioxidant abilities should still help protect the skin against sun damage from the UV light that isn’t blocked by SPF agents!

Watermelon in Skincare...
The fruit of the watermelon itself has many important nutrients, like vitamins A and C, both of which are known to help combat and heal dull, damaged skin, says Dr. Viscusi. Without enough vitamin A, you may end up with dry and flaky looking skin, as this vitamin is key for creating and repairing your skin cells. Vitamin C meanwhile may help to keep your skin safe from sun damage and smooth wrinkles by boosting collagen. “Watermelon also contains Vitamin E which is a key antioxidant to help rejuvenate skin suffering from factors such as hyperpigmentation or free radical damage,” Dr. Viscusi adds. This powerful compound may help to nourish your skin and help protect it from damage. While you could nourish your skin with Hyaluronic Acid Serums & Creams, watermelon can actually help achieve some of the same effects. “Certain supplements and food can help boost natural hyaluronic acid and collagen levels, helping to boost cellular hydration from the inside out.”

Cucumber in skincare products, cucumber extract provides instant hydration and helps strengthen the skin’s natural moisture barrier to prevent future dehydration. It’s a useful ingredient in products for those with dry or dehydrated skin and can often be found in moisturizers, hydrating toners, and masks.

Quinoa Protein is used extensively in skincare products due to its ability to enhance moisture retention and improve the skin's elasticity. These properties make it ideal for use in anti-aging creams, moisturizers, and serums, as it improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
It's also used in products designed to promote skin regeneration, like serums, lotions and haircare products as it is thought to boost collagen production and speed up the healing process of damaged skin cells.

In addition to its anti-aging and skin regeneration properties, quinoa protein is also known for its ability to protect the skin from environmental stressors. It forms a protective barrier on the skin's surface, shielding it from pollutants and other harmful substances that can cause damage and premature aging. Furthermore, quinoa protein is a natural source of amino acids, which are essential building blocks for healthy skin. These amino acids help to strengthen the skin's natural barrier, improving its ability to retain moisture and protect against external aggressors.

Fruit Plant Hydrosols;
Hydrosols are one of our best allies in the world of skin care because they are the missing link in hydration. Many people who use a face oil or serum alone are often unsatisfied with the results or feel they also need a moisturizer. Proper hydration and moisturizing is attained with the union of proper ingredients. Integrating a hydrosol into your daily protocol completely transforms the efficacy of your skin care, and elevates it to the next level. Nutra-Lift DAILY LITE has the gentle natural scent of the contained hydrosols, but has no synthetic fragrance.
